~My Imagination~

Fly away with me! Fly in my imagination! Oh would that it could be! The soul of a child is in me...a child with a grand imagination! I honestly don't mind what people think of me and my mind...my imagination...I have fun in my world.

I would love to take you back to the monster truck show that I attended last summer. The trucks were all "alive" with their character. Truly, they were alive to me. They were loud! They were in "fight" mode! They were competitive! During one set, a truck pooed out! It had to go over to the side and wait to see if it could re-generate. I had such fun with that truck! I mumbled and grumbled it as it sat on the side watching the actions of the other trucks...even the stunts of a truck with a 10 year old driver. "Oh come on! I wanna be out there too! I wanna show 'em what I've got!" That was the sidelined truck talking. Eventually the truck was ready to compete again. It drove out there, faced another monster truck and got up on it's hind wheels. It taunted the other truck! "Come on buddy! I'm ready for ya!" and off they went to challenge! Yeah, trucks talk!

As you still fly with me in my mind...we observe the critters outside my window. Oh there are so many spiffy birds and the greedy squirrels and chipmunks! The "Woody woodpeckers" attack the suet, clinging to the little grated metal box. "Ah, finally something substantial!" the Pileated says. I watch as he continues to look around as he takes chunks of suet. He stretches his wings and is gone! At the finch feeder there are little birds. They all snack away and chatter to each other asking how their days are going. Along comes alpha finch and wing flutters at the others to shoo them away."Go! I'm Lord of the feeder!" The others flutter-fly away while alpha dines. Ah and the squirrels! They check out the main bird feeder. "Oh! FOOD! MINE!!!" The one scurries up the pole and hangs over top of the seedy suet feeder grabbing hunks as he can. "Woot! Got me some chunky good stuff!" I step up and he scampers off muttering,"stupid lady at the window!" Then little chippie tries the main bird feeder."Mmmmm num num num! I just gotta stuff my cheeks and carry this home!" I tap the window and he rushes off and away! Those sweet mourning doves! Always just kind of looking lost. "So, Mary how's the family?" they carry on conversations as they peck at the grassy ground like two ladies at the "social fence". The nasty crows swoop in. "Get outta here you guys! This is our territory! GO!" I hit the window and tell them they are ugly and to leave! They look at me, "we'll be back lady!" and fly off. Then there are the starlings and cow birds. They hog out on the suet. "Oh can't get enough! Just can't get enough!" I hit the window telling them I don't want to feed them. They don't sass back, they just fly away giving me "a look". The sweet little downy and hairy wood peckers enjoy the suet and seeds. They are too busy eating to talk! A sweet baby wood pecker takes chunks of suet and flies to a tree branch with another baby and shares the food with it. They don't talk with food in their mouths. My mind always hears the conversations between the animals outside my window. It constantly goes. The critters are very entertaining!

Fly with me now to the spacious world around us. Everywhere I go, my imagination goes with me. My eyes see things come to life! I see things and people in entertaining ways. I create a story line for people as I find myself gazing at them along streets, on a beach, in stores...I create a world and story line for them. The people don't talk as the animals do. In my imaginative world, I am the playwright for people. I create their script. I set the stage. I watch them perform. They wear the costumes that suit the scene as they act on stage in my imagination. They are actors and actresses...unaware!

My imagination is that of many trails and flutters. To describe it to you, is impossible. There is just a little taste of my imagination in the words written above...but there is SO much more in my world! Possibly, you better understand me now. Possibly, you will better get into what I write here. Just possibly!

My world is as Victor Hugo has said, "A writer is a world trapped in a person." My imagination runs rampant in my world! As a writer, my world escapes! There is no reason to begin to understand my mind...my imagination...my world....it is released in text and sometimes I simply giggle out loud knowing the "play" and the set "stage"....watching the performers.

  1. What a busy feeding station you have! One day I will have to introduce you to crows as they truly are; family orientated, majestic and beautiful.
